TU Darmstadt's new diversity strategy will help to kick-start teaching
TU Darmstadt's first diversity strategy was adopted in the spring, but what does that mean for your own teaching? In this workshop, we want to work with this strategy by establishing a clear connection to your own teaching practice:
Where do we encounter diversity in teaching? How can we best deal with it? What challenges does this pose to my role as a teacher? How are we ourselves involved in discriminatory structures? How can we uncover and address these?
These are questions we would like to explore together with you in order to find solutions for the everyday challenges in practice.
The workshop will be structured around a mix of theoretical input, group work, and individual case studies. As preparation, we will complete a reflection module that will prepare you for the workshop and provide a practical connection to your own teaching.
Contents:
- Getting to know the dimensions of diversity
- Identifying aspects of diversity and discrimination in one's own teaching
- Transferring the application areas of the strategy to one's own teaching and learning about practical courses of action
