First-year students bring a variety of knowledge to the table. To ease the transition to university, we offer preparatory courses and study-related support services in chemistry and physics. These programs are used by approximately 2,500 students annually. In addition to our successful in-person courses, we have also developed digital preparatory courses that include videos and exercises. This allows participants to practice independently and monitor their progress using our ILIAS e-learning system, in addition to the in-person courses, which continue to be in high demand.
The classroom-based courses consist of a lecture and a supervised practical component, with a clear focus on the practical application of the content covered. This approach has proven extremely beneficial, allowing students to access the course offerings individually and digitally, even during the lecture period. Furthermore, our program effectively prepares students for new examination formats, which is reflected in excellent exam results, particularly in the chemistry minor exams.
Our course offerings are also being expanded to include blended and hybrid settings to optimally combine the advantages of face-to-face and online formats.
