Within the framework of the sub-project “Educational Mobility without Physical Mobility” at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU), virtual and hybrid exchange opportunities are being established as permanent exchange formats. The aim is to increase study-related international experience in line with JLU's internationalization strategy and to systematically further develop the digitalization of studies and teaching.

These measures aim to reach new target groups, enabling broad participation in international experiences and intercultural exchange, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and equality. Virtual and hybrid exchange formats aim to strengthen participants' intercultural skills through international and group-based teaching and learning methods. This QuiS project supports virtual international mobility and blended learning formats by expanding virtual and hybrid exchange opportunities for students, both incoming and outgoing.

These approaches promote diversity among students with international experience and improve inclusion in international exchange programs. Furthermore, this educational initiative requires the complete digitization of internal administrative processes, in line with the nationwide implementation of the Online Access Act in Germany. This includes comprehensive training and guidance for all involved personnel. The project thus not only fosters digital and intercultural skills but also contributes to process optimization and facilitates access to international experiences.
