Pilot project online group in the study program “Accounting, Finance, Controlling (AFC)” (W2)
The project aims to establish a second student group (approximately 35 students) within the already in-person Accounting, Finance, Controlling (AFC) degree program, which will be taught entirely online. This increased flexibility is achieved firstly through methodological changes, as the online group's coursework requires a completely new didactic approach. Secondly, it ensures greater flexibility in terms of location, as students can choose between the existing in-person classes and the newly designed online course, and can also switch between the two formats if necessary.
The challenge lies in the fact that in some degree programs, particularly at the master's level, students often study while working and have family obligations. However, existing programs are designed for in-person instruction. This frequently results in scheduling conflicts, often leading to a substantial extension of studies beyond the standard period of study.
In the pilot study program "Accounting, Finance, Controlling (AFC)," this challenge is addressed with a student group taught exclusively online. Web-based training will support students in acquiring, transferring, and applying their knowledge. Additional methods, such as the inverted classroom and peer teaching, will also be incorporated.
