Pilot project integrated preliminary studies

The pilot project Integrated Preparatory Studies of the Oe Department serves to develop an integrated preparatory study to sustainably promote the transition from school to university. Overall, the integrated preparatory course concerns the content and methodological dimension of flexibility.

An often insufficient ability to study at the beginning of the course, especially with regard to the perception of courses offered and self-organized learning, also manifests itself in the further course of the course for many students in an increasingly decreasing active participation and increasing absence from the courses offered.

In this pilot project, the ability to study will be improved through an integrated preliminary study consisting of various modular preliminary courses. These preliminary courses should be differentiated between subject-specific and cross-departmental, ie general, offerings. General offerings will primarily cover the topics of self-organization, learning to learn, and social and health-promoting activities such as integrated preliminary courses on sustainability topics. The preliminary courses will ideally include the possibility of being credited towards the subsequent studies and will take place in cooperation with regional partners.

Due to the substantial transformation of the structures of the existing courses in the individual degree programs, the model will be transferable to other departments of the university as well as to other universities.
