Welcome to the innovative and future-oriented fields of study at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. We are developing a novel format that brings students from all disciplines together in interdisciplinary formats on social mega-topics. We start with “Digitalization & Society”, “Mobility” and “Sustainable Development” . The interdisciplinary offerings developed here are aimed at identifying and describing current social challenges and developing practical solution options.
From technology and design to financing and implementation
In the Digitalization & Society field of study, we offer students from all disciplines the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of digitalization. Our interdisciplinary events provide insights into a wide range of digital tools and techniques, their applications in different contexts and the associated ethical and social questions.
The mobility field of study offers competency-oriented teaching that deals with current and future social challenges and needs. These include topics such as climate change, increasing urbanization and a constant demand for sustainable mobility solutions. Students are encouraged to recognize their own talents, develop creative ideas and have team-based discussions. Practical research is promoted through scientific work in an interdisciplinary composition.
Not only will you gain specialist knowledge, but you will also develop the skills necessary in an ever-changing world.
The field of study Sustainable Development (SD) focuses on interdisciplinary and systemic approaches to achieving sustainability. Our students learn to develop sustainable solutions that take into account planetary boundaries and the Sustainable Development Goals. We promote key skills such as systemic thinking, future orientation, values, strategic thinking as well as interpersonal skills and integrated problem solving and implementation.
Our fields of study are more than just traditional courses. We offer an inspiring environment in which students can develop their creativity, work with like-minded people and take on real-world challenges. Not only will you gain specialist knowledge, but you will also develop the skills necessary in an ever-changing world.
