Location: Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences
First goal: make Europe tangible
The h_da would like to specifically and systematically establish the new mobility formats of the Erasmus + program 2021-2027, which has recognized the value of short stays, at the university. By increasing staff and increasing the visibility of these new mobilities, we want to reach more students and teachers. In this way, we enable the intercultural skills of our university members to be strengthened.
Second goal: support and support of international students
The h_da aims to establish a comprehensive and systematic welcoming culture for international students. We are therefore strengthening our service offering advising international students on non-academic topics at a central level. We are also starting a pilot project at department level. In order to identify suitable and relevant measures, we decided to prioritize the following measures in a first phase:
- Service point for international students
- Welcome days for international first-year students
- Buddy program – introduction of a language café
- Collection appointments at the registration office
- Intensification of contact with the Darmstadt immigration authorities
- Improved information and communication channels
- Housing – strategic discussions with building association; In the future, increased cooperation with the Housing Service of the TU Darmstadt
These are evaluated every semester with all stakeholders and changed and/or expanded if necessary.
