When graduation is at risk – support services
With the increase in study and training opportunities, the information needs of prospective students have risen sharply in recent years. Many students also have growing doubts about whether they have chosen the right subject or how they can meet the academic demands of their chosen field. Many students need support to successfully address these questions and doubts.
Guidance and support
This is where the OasE project (Orientation to Sensitive Decision-Making Situations) comes in. We develop counseling and support services for students who, for various reasons, have doubts about their current study situation. We focus particularly on students who are progressing more slowly than expected and who may therefore enter a downward spiral, potentially leading to dropping out of their studies.
These students should be reached earlier in the future: A systematic monitoring of their academic progress, based on specific criteria, should be the first step in targeted advising. These students will then be actively contacted and supported in a second step.

Particular attention is paid to students who progress more slowly than planned in their studies and may therefore enter a downward spiral leading to dropping out of their studies.

The support program includes in-depth guidance on personal and academic issues, taking into account the demands of studies and student life, and provides students with a portfolio of solution strategies. Possible services include learning support, general counseling, and, if needed, psychological support.
