Coaching and consulting in the specialist department
Starting university can be challenging in many ways. That's why it's helpful to have quick and easy access to advice and support. At Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, the central student advisory service is therefore supplemented by a low-threshold contact point directly within each department. This advising and coaching service is available to all students at the beginning of their studies and throughout their entire course of study.
When doubts arise about one's studies, time management isn't working, or a difficult personal conflict or life situation is impacting studies, a helpful conversation can offer new perspectives and relief. Together with the students, the academic advisors at the department develop individual strategies to unlock potential and optimize the study experience. Students can choose between different communication channels and formats. Some prefer face-to-face meetings, others prefer online resources and workshops, or value the additional exchange with student mentors from the same degree program.
Counseling and coaching for students takes place not only during the semester but also during the semester break. Students are often supported over several sessions regarding their individual concerns.
