Well informed and motivated to study

It is the second largest public university for applied sciences in Germany and is just over 50 years young: In addition to 81 courses from architecture to economics, the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen Sciences offers three locations in Friedberg, Gießen and Wetzlar. There are also six branch offices. Almost 19,000 young people study here - a good 3,000 come from abroad.

Against this background and in view of the social challenges, the university is confronted with various questions: How can young people get excited about technical subjects at school? What do first-year students need for comprehensive orientation and a good start to their studies so that it is a success? And how can you help and support students with the big and small challenges they face during their studies? Welcome&Stay@THM proactively supports prospective students in deciding on a subject to study and supports the start of their studies in a variety of ways. The eight sub-projects are dedicated to three overarching topics:

1. Transition to THM

Getting students excited about computer science and the like at an early age – that is the goal of the MINT research laboratory . In the well-equipped departmental laboratories of the THM, middle school students (5th to 10th grade) can experiment and be amazed - and at the same time get up close and personal with the THM. Later studies are not excluded. Read more
