Pilot project for online compulsory elective modules in international degree programs

The pilot project online elective modules in international degree programs (W1) aims to enable students who are not permanently resident in Germany and students with an international orientation to be able to complete their studies from abroad. It is intended to enable methodological flexibility because, in addition to classic synchronous teaching, asynchronous formats, such as web-based training, can also be used. However, the focus of the project is on spatial flexibility through an additional semester abroad.

For students who are not permanent residents of Germany, it is sometimes challenging to reconcile their studies with their job and/or their family situation.

Students in higher semesters should therefore be able to study one or more elective subjects online and receive online supervision for theses. This allows students to spend an additional semester abroad during their studies in addition to the obligatory semester abroad. The additional offer of online elective courses and online supervision of theses will initially be implemented in the pilot study programs “International Business & Management” and “International Management”.
