Pilot project: Online elective modules in international degree programs

The pilot project "Online Elective Modules in International Degree Programs (W1)" aims to enable students, particularly those not permanently residing in Germany and those with an international focus, to complete coursework from abroad. It is designed to offer methodological flexibility by allowing the use of asynchronous formats, such as web-based training, alongside traditional synchronous instruction. However, the project's primary focus is on geographical flexibility through an additional semester abroad.

For students who are not permanently resident in Germany, it can sometimes be challenging to combine their studies with their job and/or family situation.

Students in higher semesters will therefore be given the opportunity to study one or more elective courses online and receive online supervision for their theses. This will allow students to spend an additional semester abroad during their studies, on top of the mandatory semester abroad. The supplementary offering of online elective courses and online thesis supervision will initially be implemented in the pilot degree programs "International Business & Management" and "International Management".
