Well supported by your studies
As part of the project funded by QuiS21 funds, subject-related educational coaching is being established at the University of Kassel.
One of the University of Kassel's goals is to open up opportunities for academic education to population groups that are the first generation to attend universities. In addition to enabling access to higher education, it is also about familiarizing students with the requirements of university life, equipping them for self-responsible learning and independent organization of their studies, and supporting them if any obstacles and difficulties arise.
Subject-related educational coaching is intended to support relevant student groups in particular and all students in general in overcoming the challenges of their demanding educational path in order to increase the study success rate. The subject-related educational coaching that is currently being developed will create a connection between already established consulting offerings and add a new offering.
Permanently employed teachers and administrative staff with contact with students are trained to become educational coaches as part of the project. You will receive training as well as regular offers for networking and supervision. A corresponding university-wide coaching concept to support students is currently being implemented. The project continues to support department-specific implementation planning and integration into the university's continuing education offerings. In the long term, the study environment at the University of Kassel will be further developed in the direction of support offers and inclusivity. The first round of training started in March 2023; Further courses for further training to become an educational coach will begin in September 2023 and January 2024.
