School of Personal Development and Education (ScoPE)

The School of Personal Development and Education (ScoPE) acts as an independent, cross-university center within the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. This center extends across all departments of the university and is a central contact point for students, teachers and employees. Here, an interdisciplinary team of researchers is dedicated to current and future challenges in order to support university members in developing their skills. ScoPE focuses on promoting personal development, raising awareness of social responsibility, optimizing university didactics and developing key skills.

In a clear commitment to its mission, ScoPE opens its arms to provide students and teachers from all disciplines as well as employees with a wide range of opportunities to strengthen their personalities and promote their social commitment and to continuously expand these opportunities. But ScoPE goes beyond the university boundaries and becomes a partner for the community. In an alliance with civil society, it actively contributes to the transformation of the education system by promoting mindful and sustainable higher education.

Skills for the world of tomorrow

For students, ScoPE opens a door to the skills that will be invaluable in the world of tomorrow. Your academic education is complemented by access to “Future Skills” – those skills that give future professionals a powerful voice. Self-reflection, resilience and problem-solving skills are just some of the jewels being polished here. These offerings are designed to embrace students as a whole and to make a significant contribution to the development of their potential and active participation in social change through a wide range of methods and topics such as mindfulness training, individual mentoring and real-life learning.

ScoPE supports teachers in their efforts to design educational offerings that are tailored to the changing needs of their students and the rapidly changing world of work. Tools for innovative university didactics are provided here, as well as modules that range from data literacy to research-based learning, mindfulness, democracy education and sustainability. Employees also receive support from ScoPE that goes beyond their professional duties. Your personal and social commitments are promoted while new horizons are opened up as part of personnel development.

In order to be able to successfully provide all of these offerings, we work intensively and continuously on various projects.
